Psychotherapy. What to expect and how it works.

Psychotherapy uses various techniques to provide help with a range of issues faced by individuals, couples, families, or group members.

Before we begin our work together, you will be sent an intake questionnaire. In the first session, we will discuss areas where help is needed, identify goals for therapy, and develop a treatment plan.

In the sessions thereafter, we will work together towards meeting goals using various therapeutic and faith-based techniques. I will give “homework” after each session to continue to reflect, practice, or take action steps on what we discussed.

Is my mental health care confidential?

Yes. Patient confidentiality is vital in our work together. However, suppose you share information about harming yourself or others at any time in our sessions. In that case, we will discuss contacting necessary people to ensure your safety and the safety of others.

How long is a typical appointment?

Initial visits are typically 45-60 min long. Follow-up visits can be 40-60 minutes long.

Do you take insurance?

No. However, I am happy to provide a superbill for you to submit to your insurance for reimbursement.
